This is the lowest level of care for established patients in the office. Internists used this code for only 3.21% of these encounters in 2014. Usually the presenting problems are minimal. This E/M code is unique in that it is the only one which does NOT REQUIRE THE PRESENCE OF THE PHYSICIAN.
