New Office Patients (99201-99205)
These codes are used to bill for new patients being seen in the office. A new patient is defined as someone who has never been seen
by you or a physician in the same specialty in your group OR who has not been seen by you or a physician in the same specialty in your
group for at least three years. There are five levels of care for this type of encounter which all require the documentation of three out
of three key components. Most likely you are over-utilizing level 3 visits and uder-utiilzing level 5 visits. Take the web-course below to see why. |
