Initial Hospital Care: Worsening CHF
You are evaluating a patient for an Initial Hospital Care encounter.
- Patient Status: 68 YOM with a history of CAD and ischemic CM presents with worsening lower extremity edema and SOB for the past three days. You diagnose a severe exacerbation of CHF.
- Data Reviewed & Interpreted: You review a CBC, BMP, and Troponins. You also independently interpret a CXR (showing increased pulmonary vascular congestion) and an EKG.
- Plan: Order IV Lasix 40 mg now and a BMP for tomorrow to monitor electrolytes.
- Time: Total time spent is 45 minutes.
